The General Assembly and the elections for the Academic & Business Network Boards and the EABIS Management Board took place during the 7th Annual Colloquium at Cranfield University on Friday, 12 September 2008.

Governance structure 

EABIS’ governance model is designed to allow member participation at all stages of the decision making process:

General Assembly: 

• One representative from each member participates in this annual assembly to decide on the overall objectives of the Academy.

Academic and Business Network Boards:

• Both the academic and business networks elect a Board of ten institutional representatives to develop and coordinate their work and to share opinions. Each network then elects five from that number to sit on the EABIS Management Board, of whom 1 as Chair and 2 others as Vice Chairs.

Management Board:            

• Elected representatives from business and academic partners and members meet three to four times a year to make decisions on all matters pertaining to the achievement of EABIS’ objectives, specifically the management of EABIS projects and the allocation of funding. The Management Board is chaired by EABIS’ President. 

Supervisory Board:          

• The EABIS Supervisory Board is comprised of senior figures from its Founding Partner and Partner institutions, a number of special external advisors, and the elected Academic and Business Network Chairs. 

Central Office:

• Led by the Director General, the Central Office is responsible for all executive functions of EABIS and the co-ordination of its activities

EABIS is a “not-for-profit” organisation.
