Building on last year's succesful launch of the 1st Education and Training Exchange in the 2005 Colloquium in Warsaw the event was organised for the 2nd year during the Annual Colloquium in Milan.
Exchange
The event was again structured as an open Marketplace allowing people to circulate freely and view presentations and have open discussions. The founding objective was once more to create an interactive forum that brought together business, academia and other interested parties facilitating the sharing of new ideas, mutual learning and the celebration of success stories.
The Exchange brough together almost 60 initiatives from Companies, Business Schools and Universities, Training Providers and International Organisations and Networks. This year we were pleased to see a significant raise in the participation from business in the event which has more than doubled compared to last year.
A 170% increase in company training programmes and training providers and an 100% increase of initiatives resulting from partnerships between business and academia revealed the emerging need to identify and share cases on the education and training of tomorrow's managers.
Symposia
Based on the very positive previous feedback we received from participants expressing the wish to actively engage in further discussions on education and training on Coprorate Risponsibility we slightly modified the format of the 2nd ETE aiming to stimulate even deeper discussions and exchange.
In view of this we introduced the Symposium Series, incuding five parallel one hour workshopes that focused on the different education and training approaches represented in the Exhange. The Symposiums aimed to enable deeper discussion on the opportunities and challenges for content development and implementation of education and training on corporate responsibility.
In every symposium there were maximum three presentations on the deeper insights into the design and implementation of learning approaches, followed by a group discussion, which was led by a moderator. In each case the audience was invited to respond actively with their opinions, individual experiences and questions.
The following 5 Symposiums took place:
In-Company Training: moderated by Dr. Boffi, ENI Corporate University, Dr. Bodo, Sodalitas
* Undergraduate: moderated by Dr. Maccarrone, Politecnico di Milano
* MBA and Masters: moderated by Prof. Tencati and Prof. Perrini, SDA Bocconi
* Executive Education: moderated by Prof. Caramazza, ISTUD
* Faculty & PhD Development: moderated by Prof. Molteni, Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
