Corporate Responsibility in Action at EABIS´Education and Training Exchange
On 5 December 2005 in Warsaw, Poland, EABIS launched the Education and Training Exchange at its 4th Annual Colloquium.
The Exchange came about in reaction to a growing awareness of the current knowledge gap on existing education and training initiatives on corporate responsibility in companies, business schools and other organisations in Europe as well as the need for researchers, business school officials and practitioners to freely network and share ideas.
There are a lot of excellent initiatives out there and the Exchange provided an opportunity to learn from, and celebrate, some amazing implementations and profiles of corporate responsibility in action.
The Exchange
The Exchange, about two hours long, was structured as an open, informal ‘marketplace’ enabling attendees to freely circulate, network and choose among more than 55 short presentations on corporate responsibility education initiatives in action at corporations, research projects underway at universities and how corporate responsibility is being integrated in business school courses.
The presenters represented organisations from 16 countries in Europe and around the world including the World Bank, the United Nations, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Aspen Institute, Shell, IBM, London Business School, ESADE, IESE, IMD and a host of others.
The Catalogue of Initiatives
Handed out at the Exchange was a 170+ page Catalogue of Initiatives which included a profile of each of the projects associated with the presentations, including the initial problem/need, the challenges in rolling out the initiative, the solution, areas of improvement and mainstreaming.
