Summary and Insights

The Symposium was designed to meet two primary objectives:

  • To present the ‘state of the art’ of diversity management education in business schools across Europe and beyond

  • To stimulate debate and innovative thinking between business leaders and representatives of business schools around new ways of enhancing cooperation between the two communities on this theme.

During spring 2008, EABIS and EIMD academic experts, with the support of EFMD, mapped and analysed the state-of-the-art of teaching and research on diversity management in European and international business schools. This was done through a Dean's Survey and a Faculty Survey as well as via good practice case studies.

Please download the findings of the study "Managing Diversity in Business Schools - Research Report" such as they were presented at the Symposium in Madrid.

The Symposium presented an important platform for advancing discussions on the strategic role covered by business schools in training current and future managers and business leaders to enhance their skills and competencies on diversity issues. By extension, it explored a number of options of establishing a future network of business schools and companies to shape and exchange good practices and innovative insights.
