CSR Platform project intends to mobilise a community of international researchers to lay the foundations for achieving a structured, coherent and comprehensive coordination of future European research in the field of CSR by directly targeting young researchers.
An important aim of the CSR
Platform Project is to improve the cooperation and network between
young researchers of different disciplines whom approach the topic of
CSR. The project also provides the opportunity for young researchers to
get advice and coaching from senior editors about how to position CSR
articles on mainstream journals. Also, a number of activities will
facilitate and inspire the development of clear research methodologies
on CSR.
The work stream, which is co-ordinated by INSEAD, includes the folowing events over a period of 3 years:
- A professional development workshop for Post Doc Researchers
and young faculty staff from different disciplines. This is an
opportunity for young researchers to bring their work forward and get
feed-back on content and publication strategy from senior faculty
(INSEAD, 2004)
- Doctorial seminar for PhD students on CSR with a particular emphasis on organisational and managerial strategies.
The relationship between research and practice is the central theme.
Doctoral students of different nationalities and with various
theoretical and methodological traditions will discuss, argue and share
ideas with European and US researchers and managers (Copenhagen
Business School, 2004).
- Methodology paper:
explore and evaluate the relevance and suitability of traditional
research methodologies to corporate responsibility research. Particular
attention will be paid to action research, grounded theory and case
study as mechanisms for learning about and ensuring 'real-world'
relevance. Dowload the paper here. (Warwick Business School, 2006)
- Research workshop Locating your CSR Research
for PhD students from different disciplines to map research
competencies, to discuss the global context of CSR strategies, joint
approaches and dilemmas in approaching and mainstreaming CSR across
different disciplines and achieve real collaboration within the young
generation of researchers in this field (Warwick Business School, 2006)
- An
editor lunch, as part of the 2007 Colloquium PhD workshop, where
editors from leading academic mainstream management journals are invited to
discuss suggested publication strategies for CSR topics in mainstream journals
(INSEAD)
- Doctoral seminar for PhD
students on CSR
with a particular emphasis on the tension between what might be termed the
“values case” and the “business case (Copenhagen BusinessSchool, 2006).
- Facilitating young generation research cooperation and networking:
this involves the mapping of existing PhD (related) activities, fora
and networks in and around CSR, an analysis of the needs for further
means and tools, recommendations on future structuring of young
generation research and ultimately the establishment of a European fora
for enhanced dialogue and collaboration between young research
professionals in the field of CSR (EABIS).
