Event Background
part of the project "The Changing Nature of Government: The Relational State and its Implications for CR" as part of the EABIS Corporate Funded Research, Education & Training Programme. The project has been developed by a multi-disciplinary team from ESADE Business School, Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi School of Management and Norwegian School of Management.

The focus of the day was:
- Discuss the evolution from the welfare state to the relational state
- Learn about the relational model as a tool to
analyse public policies and programmes for corporate responsibility in
different countries
- Compare government policies and programmes promoting corporate responsibility across three countries, the UK, Italy and Norway
- Consider the role of NGOs, business and government in the public policy process and the relationships between these sectors
- Discuss the role of government in promoting the business case for corporate responsibility
- Consider the relationship between government policies for corporate responsibility, innovation and competitiveness
